Through the compassionate and generous support of people like you, we have positively impacted students from age 3 to Adult, across the United States. Your gift to LWDA will assist us in our Mission to:

  • Eradicate childhood and adolescent obesity. (LWDA Rules of Healthy Practice© Nutrition Education Program).
  • Reverse the school drop-out rates among teens. (LWDA Innovative Arts Education Programs).
  • Teach and promote Agricultural and Entrepreneurial Self Sufficiency. (LWDA Service Learning).
  • Provide jobs and internships to high school youth, college students and adults. (LWDA Operating Support).
  • Monthly Giving helps us overcome the wax and wane in revenue, allowing us to direct our time and focus to logistical and creative planning and training for the students, families and individuals that need our services.
  • Donor support directly bolsters the daily operations of LWDA, and expresses a consistent, connected and meaningful commitment to our Mission. Your donation directly impacts youth who may not have the necessary circle of support to stay on the right path.

Program Sponsorship & Current Campaigns

We’d be so grateful if you are able to join in our cause and get involved. Below are the campaigns we are fervently working on. Please select from the following donation opportunities in order to make a great impact, and support our mission. Thank you in advance for your support! We truly appreciate every single bit.

We provide comprehensive Performing Arts Education programs coherent with State content standards for Reading Comprehension, Performing Arts and Physical Education. We are also extremely unique, in that we infuse an Academic subject with every Style of Dance that we teach, spanning across seven different Cultural Dance Disciplines and academic subjects.

Nestled within our Organization’s overall offerings is our LWDA Rules of Healthy Practice© (ROHP) Nutrition Education Program. This Program focuses on the part of our Mission where we work to eradicate childhood and adolescent obesity, through Ingredient Literacy, Caloric Balance, and education on the healthiest choices possible for a lifestyle of wellness; both physically and mentally.

“A panel of researchers in kinesiology and pediatrics conducted a massive review of more than 850 studies about the effects of physical activity on school-age children. Most of the studies measured the effects of 30 to 45 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity three to five days a week on many factors — physical factors such as obesity, cardiovascular fitness, blood pressure and bone density, as well as depression, anxiety, self-concept and academic performance. Based on strong evidence in a number of these categories, the panel firmly recommended that students should participate in one hour (or more) of moderate to vigorous physical activity a day. Looking specifically at academic performance, the panel found strong evidence to support the conclusion that ‘physical activity has a positive influence on memory, concentration and classroom behavior.’ (Excerpted from the new book You, Your Child and School: Navigate Your Way to the Best Education by Sir Ken Robinson and Lou Aronica. The tuition cost for participation in the LWDA Innovative Arts Education program is only $75.00 for an entire month of professional instruction and program benefits, per student. Discounts are given for additional siblings that are enrolled, however, the general cost is $75.00 per month. Our program is extremely affordable. By comparison, other local dance studios in our community charge families approximately $70.00, but students receive only one hour of instruction, and no other benefits. In addition, they charge costume and registration fees, and fees for performing or competing. Our classes are 1.5 to 2 hours long per session, standard. We do not charge costume, registration or performance fees. For students to participate for an entire regular season which lasts 9 months, the cost would only be $675.00 per child. There is a limit of 30 students per class. We humbly request for a monetary donation in one of the following ways, to make the greatest impact:

Sponsoring students by providing a pool of scholarship funding is the most viable and sustainable way to remove the financial burden from families in need, keep our programs running, and allow students to pursue their dreams. Our program also offers teens and young adults the opportunity to earn Volunteer hours/credits, which can be utilized on their transcripts for college, or on their resumes for employment. The return on investment is multifaceted, in that the community as a whole benefits from well-rounded, capable, accountable citizens interacting with one another, and entering the workforce. We see innovative paths from our program, that include collaborative workplace partnerships with other organizations, in which our students develop projects for real businesses and solve real-world issues in a planned workshop fashion, and our investors benefit from the full circle interaction.
